duct tape double
Wait, it's already Thursday? What is up with that? I haven't posted about the Atlanta Thanksgiving trip yet, how can it already be a week after Thanksgiving?

I need to upload the photos from my camera from the trip so I can brag on my adorable nieces and my goofy dad and all that. Plus I have to scan the photos that the Sidman took with his "real" camera. (He doesn't believe in digital.) But you know? I never got a photo of Ella in the dress that I made for her. Or the Halloween costumes I made. Ack! Well, just one more thing I'll have to ask my sister to do for me. Please, Kara?

I think the biggest reason I've slacked so much this week is well, A) I *am* a slacker but I'm really going to blame it on B) my husband is working third shift this week. He usually works second shift so when I get home from work I can do my own thing and be super productive. Hey, I can dream...right? Well, I slack even more when he's here which is odd really. I feel like I have to be in the same room with him or at least within shouting distance. If I'm in my sewing room, it's on the exact opposite side of the house and two staircases above his workshop. So I have a tendency to either veg in front of the TV or hang out on the computer playing Lux (both while knitting at the same time) if he's home and downstairs playing with his wood working in his shop.

But last night I did not slack! (much) I finished the flannel pj pants that I was going to make for his birthday last year! The Sidman will be 39 this Saturday and it would be nice if I actually gave him something, maybe he'll get the top for Xmas. Also I started planning the flannel pj's for my nieces and nephews. We have 7 nieces and nephews (ages 2-7) between the two of us and they are all getting flannel pj's for Xmas.
How am I doing so far? )

party time
My dad and step-mom were here last weekend. Dad & Sid ripped out the guest bathroom floor in a flash and installed granite tile. We still need to grout but I think Sid's going to handle that this weekend. All in all, it's going to look stunning when we're finished. Of course, we did things a bit backwards again. Putting the new floor down before painting is a bad idea all around. And yet, that's exactly what we've done. *sigh* Well, when we get around to our bedroom, we'll do it right. Top to bottom, that's the way it should be done.

My sister is flying in tonight from Atlanta. We're driving up to northern Iowa for our cousin's wedding. I can't think of a time when we've down a sisterly road trip together before. I'm looking forward to it. Well, except for being in northern Iowa. Thank goodness we'll have the wedding festivities to keep us occupied. There is nothing to do in my cousin's hometown. The nearest grocery store is at least 20 miles away and it's in Minnesota! So I'll definitely have knitting with me. Kara may even feel compelled to learn (doubtful, really). I also have a couple of Harry Potter audiobooks checked out from the library to listen to during our drive. Not sure how Kara will feel about that, but she usually puts up with my quirks without too much fuss. Oh, there will be teasing and mocking, of that you can be sure. But if she can't tease her big sister about her HP obsession interests...well then who can she tease?

Oh and thanks, Lisa, for talking with me last night. It helped to vent a bit. Your friendship means a great deal to me and I'll never be able to fully express how much you mean to me.
