the truth revealed

So, yesterday's post was my April Fool's joke. Many thanks to Gwen for helping out with her comment. Sid's not going to Manchester, England any time soon. Although we are both going to New York in May for nearly a week which will be cool.

I managed to pull off two other April Fool's yesterday. My husband had to go to the doctor's office yesterday to have his TB test read anytime before noon. He asked me to wake him up at 10am. Which of course I did, but I told him that I'd forgotten and that it was 11:30am. He freaked out and was highly unamused when he looked at the clock and I sang out "April Fool's!" He seemed kinda grumply after that...hmmm...

Oh and I called my mom and told her we got another dog. She was aghast, of course. She's not much of an animal lover and we already have two dogs and two cats. I told her that I was kidding. And also that my first thought was to tell her I was pregnant. To which she responded, "I would have wrung your neck."

Anyway, karma came back to me at 4:30 this morning when my cat Tipper decided to throw up on the bed about 5 inches from my face. Thank goodness I woke up before I rolled over onto it. Gosh, there's nothing I love more than having to change the sheets in the middle of the night.

Big news!

party time
The plant where Sid works has been for sale for the last month or so. It seems they been bought out by a British food company and they are doing some major reshuffling. Needless to say, we were incredbly nervous about this. But he met with upper management yesterday and they want him to do some training in Manchester! So he will be flying there next weekend and will be there for three months. This is a huge change for us and I'm feeling completely overwhelmed right now. I'm not really sure how we will manage being apart for so long.

Also, we need to call our agency about our foster parent status and see if we can put things on hold. We have tentative plans for me to fly out to join him for the first week in May so that will be a nice birthday present for me.

So right now, it's merely for training and we aren't packing up our bags and moving to England any time soon. But it's an excellent opportunity for Sid and it will be rough being apart, but I think at this point we can manage just about anything.
